1. Does AI Know Who You Are?
The AI brand visibility check looks up your brand in Wikidata and Wikipedia automatically. Both are public knowledge bases that help machines understand who an entity is.
2. Ask AI What Your Buyers Ask
Use fast mode to ask all six questions in one go, or open each prompt on its own, then come back to this tab and mark what happened. Paste the answer for the most accurate read: the AI brand visibility check finds your brand, your competitors, and links to your site for you.
3. Check Your Foundations
Tick everything that is true today. These are the signals AI answers lean on when deciding which brands to trust.

Quick answer
What Is An AI Brand Visibility Check?
An AI brand visibility check tests whether AI assistants name, recommend, and link to your brand when buyers ask about what you sell. This AI brand visibility check runs six buyer prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode, then scores your mention rate, recommendations, accuracy, citations, and share of voice out of 100.
More buyers now ask an AI assistant for a shortlist before they ever open a search result. If the answer names three of your competitors and not you, you lose the sale before you know it existed. An AI brand visibility check shows you where you stand today, which engines miss you, and which competitors take your place. Think of it as an AI visibility checker built around the questions buyers actually ask.

Why I built it
Being Cited By AI Is Not The Same As Being Chosen
My own site proved this the hard way. Bing Webmaster Tools showed it earned 14,800 citations in Microsoft Copilot and partner AI experiences in three months. Almost every one came from old consumer guides about Facebook Marketplace, a topic unrelated to the work I sell. AI trusted the site. It just was not recommending me for anything that pays.
So I built this AI brand visibility check around the questions buyers ask before they spend money, and around one number that matters: how often AI puts your name in front of a buyer. A mention count alone is not enough, so this AI visibility checker also measures whether AI recommends you, describes you accurately, and links to you.

Practical, specific, local answers won a large share of AI citations for that question.

All consumer topics, none about the services I sell. That gap is exactly what this AI brand visibility check measures.

AI visibility, answered
Why Doesn’t ChatGPT Mention My Business?
ChatGPT and other AI assistants usually skip a business for one of three reasons: they cannot find enough independent sources that name it, the sources they find do not connect it clearly to the category the buyer asked about, or competitors are named more often and more specifically. AI recommends brands that the wider web already describes consistently, and an AI brand visibility check shows whether that includes you.
That is why the AI brand visibility check looks beyond your own website. It tests whether AI knows who you are, whether it names you for your category, and which competitors it names instead. Those three answers tell you whether the fix is your site, your profiles, or your presence on other people’s pages.
How Do AI Assistants Choose Which Brands To Recommend?
AI assistants that search the web build answers from pages they can find and trust, and those that answer from memory draw on what was written about a brand across the web. Google says its AI Overviews and AI Mode may use a “query fan-out” technique, running several related searches across subtopics to build one response (Google Search Central).
In practice, a brand that appears across many relevant, credible pages has more chances to be picked up by those searches. Clear category language, named locations, specific results, and consistent descriptions all make your brand easier for an AI engine to match to a buyer’s question. An AI brand visibility check tests exactly that match.
How it works
Google, AI Answers, And Your Brand
What Google Says About AI Features
Google states there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. A page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. Good SEO is still the entry ticket, and an AI brand visibility check shows what happens after it.
Why Your Own Site Is Not Enough
Google asks creators to focus on helpful, reliable, people-first content. AI answers then weigh that content against what independent sources say, which is why this AI brand visibility check tracks competitors and third-party signals too.
No tool, this AI visibility checker included, can see inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google’s ranking systems. AI answers also change from one run to the next. Treat your AI brand visibility check score as a consistent benchmark: run the same prompts every month and watch the trend, not a single result.
The method
How The AI Brand Visibility Check Scores Your Brand
Every AI brand visibility check runs the same six buyer questions in each engine you test: four category questions that never mention your name, and two brand questions that do. The category questions show whether AI finds you on its own. The brand questions show whether it describes you correctly once it does.
| Signal | Weight | What It Measures |
|---|---|---|
| Mention rate | 30% | Category answers that name your brand |
| Recommendation | 15% | Answers where you come first or near the top |
| Accuracy | 15% | How correctly AI describes what you do |
| Citations | 10% | Answers that link to your website |
| Share of AI voice | 10% | Your mentions against the competitors you entered |
| Entity record | 10% | Whether Wikidata and Wikipedia know your brand |
| Foundations | 10% | Six trust signals, from reviews to consistent business details |
Signals you have not tested are left out of the score rather than counted as zero, so an early AI brand visibility check is a fair read, not a penalty. Unlike an automated AI visibility checker that sends one query from a server, this one runs in your own browser and AI accounts, which is where your buyers see their answers.
Run the AI brand visibility check again 30 days after you make changes, with the same prompts and engines, and the movement in your score reflects your work rather than a different test.

How To Run Your AI Brand Visibility Check In 5 Steps
-
Describe Your Brand The Way Buyers Do
Use the words a customer would type, such as “family dentists” rather than “oral health solutions”.
-
Add Two Or Three Real Competitors
Pick the brands you lose deals to, so your AI brand visibility check reflects your actual market.
-
Run Each Prompt In A Fresh Chat
Start a new chat for every prompt and stay signed out of personal memory where you can, so past chats do not bias the answer.
-
Paste Every Answer Back In
Use fast mode to ask all six questions at once and paste one answer per engine. The AI brand visibility check detects your brand, your competitors, and links to your site, so your score is based on what AI actually said.
-
Fix The Top Three, Then Re-Test In 30 Days
Work through your fixes in order, then re-run the AI brand visibility check with the exact same prompts so you can see real movement.
How Do You Improve AI Brand Visibility?
To improve AI brand visibility, start with an AI brand visibility check, then get your brand named on the independent pages AI already trusts for your category, then make your own pages easy to quote. Most brands move fastest by earning places on best-of lists, directories, and reviews, rewriting their About and service pages to state who they serve and where, and keeping one consistent brand description everywhere.
Run the AI brand visibility check before you start and again 30 days later with the same prompts. Your top three fixes are ranked by how much each gap costs your score, so you always know which job comes first. Your 30-day plan puts every fix in order, week by week, and you can have it emailed as a PDF report.
Is AI Visibility The Same As SEO?
AI visibility builds on SEO but measures something different. SEO asks where your page ranks. An AI brand visibility check asks whether an AI assistant names your brand, recommends it, and links to you when a buyer asks a question. You can rank on page one and still be missing from AI answers, especially when competitors are named more often on other sites.
Google treats AI Overviews and AI Mode as part of Search, so technical SEO, helpful content, and crawlable pages still matter. Brand mentions on third-party sites, consistent profiles, and accurate descriptions then decide whether you make the shortlist, which is what an AI brand visibility check measures. That is the work I do through my SEO, AEO and GEO retainer.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About AI Brand Visibility
Is This AI Brand Visibility Check Free?
Yes. The AI brand visibility check runs in your browser with your own free AI accounts, so there is no cost and no sign-up to get your score and top three fixes. Want a copy to keep? Request your free PDF report and it is emailed to you.
Why Do I Have To Run The Prompts Myself?
Because the AI brand visibility check shows you what a real buyer sees. AI answers change by engine, account, and location, so testing in your own browser gives a truer picture than a single automated query from a server overseas. Fast mode asks all six questions in one prompt, so it takes one paste per engine.
Which AI Engines Should I Test First?
Start with ChatGPT and Google AI Mode, then add Gemini and Perplexity. Record at least four answers for a usable score and twelve or more for a reliable one.
What Is A Good AI Visibility Score?
A score of 70 or more means AI regularly names and recommends you. Between 50 and 69 you are on the shortlist but rarely first. Below 30, AI is effectively recommending your competitors instead.
How Often Should I Check My AI Visibility?
Run your AI brand visibility check monthly, using the same prompts and engines each time. AI answers vary between runs, so a monthly trend tells you far more than any single check.
Is My Data Stored Anywhere?
This AI visibility checker saves your answers only in your own browser so you can come back to them. The tool sends your brand name to Wikidata and Wikipedia to check for an entity record. Nothing else leaves your browser unless you request your PDF report.
